Operation Turn Baby Around
Yesterday I went into the hospital to have the version done. The appointment was for 7:45, I got there at 8:30, so much drama took place at home. And it was raining. The first step was to do an ultrasound to a) determine baby’s position again and b) measure my amniotic fluid. These two factors weigh heavily on whether the doctor will decide to proceed with the version.
At first look, the situation had turned to a more favorable position which ultimately meant I wouldn’t need to have the version done. I have to admit, I was really nervous this time because Kennedy was transverse which was a much easier turn than this was panning out to be. My stomach looks like a bullet this time around and I was just imagining how much it would hurt. They did a second look and the situation turned back up to full breech. I was pissed!! The nurse advised that maybe my amniotic fluid had something to do with all this movement. The docs are estimating baby to be approximately 6 lbs 4 oz. Factor in my above average amount of amniotic fluid and you get a baby that is in the womb doing backstrokes and belly flops.
I was eventually sent home with no version but with a weird belly wrap that they give moms who have had c-sections. This was supposed to be tight enough to hold the situation in place. After about an hour wear, I felt her floating back up around the top of the belly. She’s not phased at all.
The bottom line: I refuse to have a c-section. I am not sure if that means that I’ll be still writing in December with a baby in my belly or what but just know that I am not having a c-section. 
I have another ultrasound scheduled for next week so until then, just pray that she acts right and gets into position. I have the cutest hat for her. Maybe I should talk to her about this. LOL
