About Face: Daily Moisturizers
I have weird skin. It’s not dry, it’s not oily, it’s not even in between. Each season it decides to take on a different persona. As I got older, not knowing what was happening made it very difficult to deal with but now I know and knowing is half the battle (remember GI Joe?). As we head into a Spring, I thought I would share with you the products I like and the seasons I use them in. Which makes me wonder: am I the only person that uses certain products in certain seasons? I guess we’ll see.
I just bought this, and love it!
I know how this may sound, but seriously, after applying this light formula to my face, I feel so soft and silky. I always associate heavy application to moist skin but in this case it is the exact opposite. You only use a small amount and that goes a long way-as it should because this bad boy is expensive. $72; chanel.com I have seen it much cheaper at various sources on the net but I don’t play with my face so I go either direct sale or reputable department stores, i.e, Neiman’s, Bloomies, etc. This is definitely going to be my Spring/Summer moisturizer.
You can’t go wrong with Aquaphor. I use this for the entire Winter because that is when my skin is most exposed to the rough elements. (I sometimes use it on my skin as well, it is an all-around perfect moisturizer) I don’t wear make-up so I never have to worry about a base, I just apply and go. I use Aquaphor on the kids too so this big jar goes a long way. I see Target has it on sale this week and while this may appear to be a bit pricey, you can expect a 14 oz. jar to last you a few months. $12.86; target.com
I grew up on Nivea. My mother has been using this on our faces since Jesus was in short pants. Her method of application was funny too. Five dots-forehead, 2 cheeks, nose and chin. Then she would massage in an upward motion. She hates to see me grab the kids’ faces (in a downward motion) to apply their face cream. She says that pulling the skin down will encourage it to sag. She must be right because even at her age, 65, her skin is tight and Botox wants nothing with her. This is a staple in the house and while it is good, I use it only if I see it. It is a toss up between this and the Aquaphor in the winter. This is a heavy creme but much lighter than Aquaphor. $5.49; target.com
When I was looking for an everyday facial regimen, I found it in Arbonne. I love the whole set. I use the RE9 kit because it works. It keeps my face looking nice in the Fall. I love the citrus smell and the night cream is to die for. The day cream is similar to the Chanel Hydramax in that a little goes a long way but it is a tad bit heavier than it. The line is developed in Switzerland-land of good skin-what else is there to say? I signed on to be a consultant and because the product is so good, it makes it easy to sell. Prices vary depending on your consultant but take a look at their site to see if there is a consultant in your area. If not, hit me up!! Love this stuff!! arbonne.com;
That’s it for my best list. I am curious, do you change your moisturizer as the seasons change? What are your favorite products?
