Price Adjustments
We’ve all been there. You’re out shopping and find the cutest jacket. A few days later, you find yourself back in the store and that same very jacket is now 50% off. You could scream. Well don’t, I have compiled a list of a few stores that will give you a one time price adjustment within a specified time frame. A price adjustment is when you can go into the store get a credit for the difference between the price you paid and the sale price. There is a limit to how many days after your purchase you can get adjustment, and most stores do not allow a price adjustment on clearance prices. Here is a list of what I have discovered so far:
Gap Inc.
- Banana Republic – They offer a one-time price adjustment if an item is marked down within fourteen (14) days of the date on your purchase.
- Gap – They offer a one-time price adjustment if an item is marked down within fourteen (14) days of the date on your purchase.
- Old Navy – They offer a one-time price adjustment when the original sales receipt is presented within fourteen (14) days of the date of purchase.
JCrew -gladly honors a one-time price adjustment on full-price merchandise within seven days of the retail purchase or mail order ship date if accompanied by the original receipt. Items not purchased at full price are ineligible for price adjustments.
Nordstrom – If the item you purchased is reduced from its regular price, they will happily accommodate a sale adjustment within 2 weeks from your purchase date. TIP- I frequent Nordstroms not only because they have all my favorite brands but because with the original tags and valid proof of purchase, they accept your returns at any time. I returned a maternity dress I bought in 2006 last year. Original tags and I keep all of my receipts. I need that type of store in my life because my mind changes so often.
Target – If Target advertises a lower price either the same week or the week following your purchase, bring in your original sales receipt to Guest Services for an adjustment.
