That Bag on Ebay

You like designer bags like me but sometimes, you really can’t justify buying it at that ridiculous price. It is so weird to me that one day I am all for dropping an absurd amount of money down on a bag and then another day in that same week, I might say, “who in their right mind would buy this for this price?” I think I am a bi-polar shopper.

I have bags and shoes that I plan on putting up for sale on Ebay. But do you trust that my items are authentic because I am beautiful and have a pretty blog? (Okay, I may be exaggerating about the blog) but you should do your research on the authenticity of your designer items if you are buying them second hand.

First off, I only work with sellers on Ebay who have a flexible return policy. If I see “absolutely no returns” I click away because clearly you have something you are trying to get rid of. I once tried to buy a bag on Ebay and when I questioned the authenticity of the item and requested additional items, she got offended and asked me not to bid. This is a sure sign of something fishy. I am very reasonable with my bidders and as an added plus, I keep all my receipts so if a potential buyer needs any supporting documents, I am happy to send a copy of the receipt. Ask for specific shots of the bag you are considering, plus detailed pictures of stampings, zipper heads, and date code or serial numbers.

Bottom line: do your due diligence. Read all the available feedback your seller has. If it is too good to be true, it probably is. If a site is selling that new LV for less than louisvuitton.com, that should be a red flag. If all else fails, get an expert opinion. In my experience, Gucci nor Louis Vuitton would verify a bag’s authenticity. I found that posting pictures at forum.purseblog.com in their ‘authenticate this’ thread will get one of their in-house pros to offer their opinion on whether they’re counterfeit based on the symmetry, stitching and hardware.

If I’m not shopping on the pages of my trusted sellers, you can me browsing the high-end resale website yoogiscloset.com. I have no time to be bamboozled out of my hard earned cash. Word.
