Wedge Wars
I have been having the worst luck with online shopping lately. I’ve asked around and this seems to only happen to me: I place an order, checkout, get the confirmation email and then the next day, I get an email saying that one or more items I ordered were not available at the time of shipping. What kind of BS is that? This happened to me twice last week at two different online stores. Unbelievable!
So last week, I’m browsing through MSN’s Wonderwall when I spot the cutest shoes on this reality TV chick, Jacqueline Laurita from Real Housewives of New Jersey. So naturally, I tweet her and ask her who makes those fierce shoes! She replied and I immediately went on a hunt. Finding that shoe in a size 11 I figured would be a challenge because the number of women with big feet has been steadily increasing! Once I put the shoe name into Google, I found them and on sale to boot!!! (no pun intended but wasn’t that cute, shoe, boot, lol) However, they were no longer in stock, my heart was crushed-but just then, I remembered that I wanted to place an order on TB’s site and I figured now was the best time and I couldn’t have had better timing. There they were, my shoes, in an 11-in stock! I could have screamed! I shopped around and picked up a few items and then clicked on my shoes.
So excited to wear them, I selected 2-day shipping, got my confirmation and then the next day, the fricking dreaded email. Of all the items I purchased, could you believe the wedges were out of stock? In the email they also advised that they checked all the TB boutiques and not one of them had any inventory. I had to call to express my frustration, my heartbreak-Jonathan in customer service could care less. I hate feeling out of control! I immediately took to Twitter and summoned the help of Ms. Tory Burch herself (I am still waiting on a damn reply-hmmppphh) obviously to no avail.
In a state of depression, confusion and panic, I started calling all the Neiman Marcus stores in the US. You don’t understand, I needed these shoes. I am not sure if I can even walk in them yet but they are just so cute! So anyhoo, can you tell me why such a big organization such as Neiman Marcus cannot tell you the inventory of their stores? In 2010? Seriously? So I made way across the country and ended up in DC where a lovely sales rep by the name of Lloyd told me he would find the shoe for me and call me back when he did. I walked away and in that split 10 minutes, he left me a message saying he found the shoe in San Fransisco. A little light bulb flashed above my head, I called San Fransisco, in fact, it was one of the first stores I tried. They told me they didn’t have it.
Nevertheless, I ordered something coming from the Neimans in San Fran. It’s supposed to arrive today and when they do I will let you guys know the conclusion to this debacle. Sigh….I just want to be happy in cute shoes.
