What’s Your Style?
If I see you on the street, chances are I’m busy trying to determine what your style is. I always look people over and wonder if I could wear what they’re wearing. I never really had a name for my style until I saw last month’s Lucky Magazine that had descriptions along with key pieces.
- The Polished Sophisticate-Exquisitely tailored separates in a palette of glamorous, earthy tones are paramount to this aesthetic. Rich textures, exotic patterns, and animal skins add the perfect amount of complexity and intrigue.
- The Chic Pragmatist- Stick to crisp, classic staples in straightforward cuts that are easy to mix and match. Look for streamlined silhouettes and be sure that every layer is visible to the eye to avoid adding unnecessary bulk.
- The Boys’ Club Inductee-To avoid looking like you’re actually wearing a men’s suit, choose pieces that are slim-fitting through the shoulders but a touch slouchy. Keep the main elements monochromatic and neutral to stay sleek and elegant.
- The Risk Taker-Success here hinges on rich, saturated hues-skip pastels, which can turn the look into an Easter egg. Choose fitted but drapey cuts so that the effect is feminine, confident, and refreshingly bold.
I’m definitely The Chic Pragmatist. I’m so stoked that I finally have a name to put to my style. If you looked in my closet, you would agree with me. I tend to stick to wraps, cardigans and close fitting shirts to achieve that crisp layered look. I’m working toward the Polished Sophisticate but I have to do some more research.
