FEED Trick-or-Treat Bag:-Everyone Eats!
I just love October!!! I started decorating for Halloween and I went back over to Grandin Road today to see why my inflatable was collapsing and right on their site, is a banner about Feed, a company co-founded by Lauren Bush and Ellen Gustafson. I was just this weekend watching something on CNN and saying how much I take for granted. Do you really know how many children are starving every day? I certainly don’t but I know the numbers are astronomical. When I was younger, my father always had a fit when we wasted food and he would go on and on about children starving in Africa. It wasn’t until I got older that I realized how fortunate we were to have simple things, yet alone this food that we were wasting. When organizations like this ask for help, I must donate.
The FEED Trick-or-Treat bag ($13) is a great reminder of how much you have to be thankful for, while also spreading the word about childhood hunger. With each sale, a $3.50 donation is made by HSN to UNICEFto cover the cost of delivering a year’s worth of micronutrient powder to a child in a developing country.
The bag costs less than the kids’ costumes so this is one cause I’ll definitely be supporting. Ciao!
