My Personal Campaign-Part I
I have said it (well really tweeted it) a number of times before. ‘I am no good to anyone unless I am good to myself.’ That is why part of my resolution package for 2010 is my ‘renew and refresh campaign.’ Every month for this year, I will treat myself to a spa service to recover from the current month and prepare for the upcoming one. So far, it is the only resolution I am maintaining. Not only is this healthy for my mind and sprit but it is also giving me something fantastic to look forward to throughout the year. In addition to the relaxation benefits, I am hoping to experience as many different treatments at various spas as I can. In January, however, I repeated the same service which I had during my trial run in December. I cannot stay away from the Hot Stone Massage.
For January’s treatment, I visited 3000 BC which is in the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia. I like to arrive early for my spa treatments to take advantage of the serenity. Moments like this, I use to unwind and get my mind relaxed for my service. The waiting area in the spa is not very “wait and relax” friendly. It’s hard to explain without visuals but I have been to a number of spas and this by far has been the most awkward waiting space. When I evaluate the whole experience, I have to consider everything; from start to finish. They have a small bench for you to sit on but the bench is attached to the wall and it doesn’t give you much room to get comfortable. I would have liked to be able to change right away into my robe and grab a handful of the “spa mix” and drink the cucumber water. Alas, there was none of that to be had.
I can’t really tell you much about the actual hot rock massage because once I get on the table and feel the first rock, I was fast asleep. I “recovered” in their breathing room which was more like a sauna and had that dreadful “bench” again. I like this spa for it’s proximity to home but I am thinking that February’s “refresh and renew” will be at a different location. Let’s hope I try something new.
Will you be joining me on this “refresh and renew” campaign? Attending the spa can be a bit pricey. Check out SKM on tips on how to give yourself a refreshing treatment at home. You don’t have to venture out to join me on this Mommy Time campaign. Let me know if you are in. It’s not too late!
