Spring Break 2010

Puerto Rico

I just gave myself the “duh” slap. Like why wouldn’t I have a travel category when we spend a good portion of our time on the move. Well, now it is here and what better post to introduce it in but that of the ‘where shall we go for Spring Break’ post. I love to travel with the kiddies and my goal is to make them well-rounded little people. Teach them a language, learn about different cultures, you know, expose them to life beyond the ordinary. I don’t want to wait for my kids to meet someone to be introduced to something; you won’t be trying to impress my daughter by taking her on a trip to, let’s say, Aruba for some silly dating anniversary. She can let her potential suitors know that she started traveling at 6 weeks and Aruba is a frequent family getaway. In other words, come better buddy.

Our choices for this year’s spring break trip are The Bahamas or Puerto Rico. I am in desperate need of a beach getaway (nevermind that my body is not beach ready) so where do you think we should go? I am leaning towards the Bahamas because of Atlantis’ Kidventure thingamajig that I know the boys will love. Puerto Rico is in the runnings because I’ve never been and it is on my list of places to go.

Leave a comment below on where you think our travels should take us to this spring.

This is a great post...I want to take my son on a cruise next year. I want him to experience a "kidventure" also. I think Puerto Rico would be a great choice too because it would be a new experience for all of you all.

    So, I vote PR. LOL!
  • I went to Puerto Rico in '95 for my honeymoon, so I have found memories of it. Offhandedly, I don't know what family friendly areas they have so you may want to go to the Bahamas. When my husband was a kid, his family used to take family vacations to The Bahamas.

I like this post. We should expose our children to the world as early and as often as we can. We took our first family vacation last summer with our then 2 year old and 4 year old. We went to Florida, about 30 minutes outside of Daytona. Their minds are young, but they still talk about that vacation like it happened yesterday. :-)
