The Easter Bunny’s Running Late
She’s always running late at my house. We always spend Easter with the extended family and when we return home, I let the kids dig into their baskets. I am a sucker for tradition and I love to see their faces when they see what they received. The forecast calls for plenty of sunshine so we should have an egg-celllent day!
I have been using the same fabric baskets for the last two years because we are an eco-friendly house and buying new every year for these children is just ridiculous. The only person with a new basket this year is Kennedy. She didn’t have one last year because you don’t really start to “experience” anything until after 15 months. So here is her basket:
The boys have Spider Man and Winnie The Pooh but if I find a Diego basket while I am out, I will replace Winnie. I don’t do candy but here is a list of last minute ideas for your baskets in case, like mine, your bunny is stuck in traffic.

- Pajamas
- Sidewalk Chalk
- Bubbles
- Coloring Books
- Hot Wheels or Matchbox Cars
- Legos
- Stickers
- A New Toothbrush (character ones always rock)
Since I don’t give out candy and in an effort to prolong the opening process, I fill small plastic eggs with additional treats: fruit snacks, goldfish, mini pretzels, raisins, etc.
