Thirsty Thursday: Getaway Travel
I missed last week’s Thirsty Thursday and probably because I was daydreaming about this very topic. I need a vacation! I thought I would take the kids away for Spring Break but when The Atlantis and my resort in Puerto Rico were sold out, I said, screw it, let me take a solo vacation. So here are my choices that I am thirsty for.
Amanyara,
Turks and Caicos
Another perfect Aman resort, their first in the Caribbean. What’s the best part? Let me see. Could it be the ocean at the foot of your bed? The elegant upscale design? The look and feel of relaxation? The butlered service any time of the night? Costly yes but you do get what you pay for.
Jade Mountain,
at Anse Chastanet, St. Lucia
This resort is fairly new. Think eco-meets-luxury treetop enclave. Considered a sanctuary; each room has a fourth wall which is open to the incredible views of the Pitons and the Caribbean Sea and beachside mountains. The adjoining spa suites and Jade Mountain Club have equally “I can’t believe this type of place exist” views.
Little Dix Bay,
Virgin Gorda
It doesn’t get much better than this. Mother Nature’s already hit perfection with 500 acres on a long stretch of white sand but a five-year, $25 million renovation, waterfront villas, a cliff spa, a kids’ club, and beach drops didn’t hurt any. Could you ask for anything more?
El Conquistador Resort,
Puerto Rico
A pretty cliff side resort that is set up as five villages full of villas. This resort also boasts 750 rooms but the talk of the town are the villas. Stunningly beautiful set around a good size indoor outdoor lobby, a casino, and a sprawling pool area.
Decisions, decisions! Who knew that the Gilt Groupe had a travel section too! I discovered Jetsetter a few weeks ago. I might decide on a place there too because Nevis sure is looking scrumptious! Need an invite? I can’t wait to take off. Me, my kindle, iPod and a few wraps. Nothing major, just what mommy needs. You’ll know where I end up, when I blog about it.
