Travel Noir: I’m Glad I Didn’t Get Rid of The Bugaboo
I can’t believe how close I was to getting rid of my Bugaboo. I never put that hook up. I took a little breastfeeding getaway with Kai to the Bahamas recently and I knew that I would need a stroller. I was reluctant to take the Bugaboo because I always get dirty looks from the baggage folks when I tell them it doesn’t collapse. It’s extremely convenient to take your baby through the airport (on wheels) straight to the door of the plane. You get a ticket for the stroller right there and when you land, it’s right there waiting for you. I purchased a new travel system when I had Kai and the only reason I didn’t take that with me was because I didn’t want to leave the car seat attached to it. So off we went with the Bugaboo. And boy was I happy with that choice. I forgot how comfortable the Bugaboo was to maneuver; what a smooth ride!! Kai looked so comfortable in it too! Each time I put her in it,it only took a few steps before she was fast asleep.
I bought my Bugaboo when I had my 1st, and at that time I had the tan and orange combination. When the denim cover came out in 2008, I bought it so that I could have a different look for Kennedy’s arrival. I think the Bugaboo will definitely get more play with Kai. Right now the Chicco car system is convenient because I pop the car seat out of the base and right into the stroller. As I mentioned in my previous post on this topic, the Bugaboo is great, it’s just that it doesn’t collapse conveniently. If they could improve on that, I would love it more. I’ll be traveling again next week and the Bugaboo will definitely be going with us.
